Video games are the devil!

My son, Billy, is now 10 years old and I used to let him have free roam on his video games. That is, until I came home early from work one day and saw one of the games he was playing. Super Mario on his Nintendo 64.

When I got home, I greeted him and asked how his day had been, like any other day. It seemed to me that he had been having a normal day. Until he said he had a question for me. Billy was a boy of few words, so when he said he wanted to talk I jumped at the opportunity. He had been playing his new Mario game for some time and he told me how he wanted to be like Mario, which seemed harmless. That was when he tried to explain the whole game to me, but all I heard was that he had to jump on things' heads to kill them. At which point he came to his question. He then proceeded to ask if he could throw shells or jump on his little sister to get her to stop throwing her food and toys at him.

At which point, you can imagine, I lost it! I said that was it and I told him no more video games if that was what they were doing to him. And that was when I joined MAVV.

He was definitely not happy about that, but I have drastically changed our forms of entertainment. Nowadays I force my kids to go outside and play in the dirt, throw rocks at things, and antagonize the dog. Anything to get him off of those awful video machines. It may be different than most people, but I love my family and just want the best for them.

I will not let them play any form of video games again, until they only make friendly games that promote love and friendship. If you agree with me, join MAVV and help us put a stop to ALL video games that are violent.

Thinking video game violence is a problem with your child?!

Janie Whitman

Janie first came up with the idea for MAVV after having her second child in 2012. She was astnoished by some of the games she was seeing on the market, and vowed never to submit her children to the ideas and violence portrayed in these video games. She immediately began brainstorming ideas for MAVV to take a stand.

Elizabeth Pratt

Elizabeth is Janie's best friend and has three children ranging from age 4-12. After hearing Janie's crys and seeing a violent streak developing in her own video- game loving 7 year old she just knew Janie was on to something.

Nancy Thompson

Elizabeth and Janie enlisted Nancy's help in order to spread the word. Nancy is a very well known, prominent mother in the community, and was able to get people on the MAVV band wagon!
